Theatre Students Graduated
Herat, Afghanistan—Wednesday 21, January 2015— 40 theatre students after attending an eight- month diploma course of theatre graduated.
Members of Heart Theatre Institute said that 10 of the graduated students are females. “Although theatre has not advanced in Herat, the successful graduation of theatre students is a progressive step toward theatre activism”, said Faraidon Fakori, director to Herat Theatre Institute.
Objecting the Herat Department of Culture and Information, Fakori said that no attention is paid to theatre so far.
Meanwhile Herat Department of Culture and Information also says that it is no budget assigned for theatre institute.
“We lack theatre and cinema departments in Herat”, says Jawid Zargham, director to Herat Department of Culture and Information.
Heart Theatre Institute was founded 90 years ago and it for the first time has graduated students.
Despite all, theatre actors in Herat will perform theatre program on Friday. Theatre-loving individuals can participate with no charge.
